He was born in Allentown, PA in 1905
He died in Orleans, MA in 1971
Dr. Brooks was indeed a legend at Orleans High.....and he was a fixture there. He was also a well-known, and highly respected resident of the Town of Orleans. His contributions to the the town in general, as well as to the students, were more than most people knew or understood.
Although Dr. Brooks penned weekly columns for the newspaper The Cape Codder, it is doubtful that all OHS students had a full grasp of what he said.
In short, he captured history. To honor his memory and to re-aquaint alumni (and others) of his wit and wisdom, several of his columns are posted to this site.
NOTE: The dates for each column are not necessarily the dates the columns appeared in The Cape Codder but rather when he penned them. There are more which will be posted as time permits.
