'New' Orleans High School

A Tribute to Excellence...

...and maybe a bit of mischief

My Recollections

By Almira Robinson Parady - Class of 1957

My husband and I spent 4 years in Rockland, Maine, we had 2 children and moved to his home town of Kittery Point, Maine. After 2 more children and 17 more years away from the Knox County General Hospital lab, I applied for and got another Med Tech job at York Hospital in York, Maine, where I spent the next 21 years. Hooray for meaningful work!!

I worked with some great people, helped a few people along the way, and really enjoyed the computers and technology. Things have certainly changed in the past few (smile) years! But I am glad to have had a good start at OHS!!

Great friends there, too. Especially the Sour Grapes! Evelyn Nickerson, Jane Higgins, Ellen Cady, Geraldine Kelly, Martha Reynolds, and I hope I have not left someone out! Memory you know...thank you for having this fun column.

OHS Students consisted of members of the "Greatest Generation" and their children.
