'New' Orleans High School

A Tribute to Excellence...

...and maybe a bit of mischief

It's Been over 65 Years - Time for Some Recognition

Local historian, Sam Sherman (02/05/1934 - 12/09/2020) said,"It has been said that history usually repeats itself. That may be true as it relates to mistakes we make. However, in truth, history (or the events which shape it) can't be repeated. When someone dies, they are gone forever. When a building or a memory is gone or forgotten, It is gone forever. Unless we are fortunate enough to have documented it. IF we have taken photos, committed memories to paper and, most importantly, shared that information with others, our history and our heritage CAN be passed down for future generations."

The new Orleans High School, on beautiful Cape Cod, has been defunct for over sixty-five (65) years. You couldn't even find it online.....until now. (click here for a photo of the "Old" Orleans High School.)

The new Orleans High School has now become the Nauset Regional Middle School. (Go there.)

Unfortunately, like many other things that are important only to the participants, Orleans High School, old or new, has been largely forgotten.

NOT BY SOME FOLKS. There are many alumni who took great pride in our high school and feel that we would like to share our better recollections before it's too late. As we well know, history has a way of deleting the past unless it is documented.

The purpose of this website is to rouse and test the memories of those who attended.....and educate those who did not have the great privilege and honor of doing so.

We are gathering information that will (should) spark some memories. The website will be a 'work in progress' as we go along BUT it won't be complete without your memories, stories, and photos.

If you have contributions of photos/stories/recollections of your time here, please use the "Submit Content" link near the bottom of this page.
